Principal, Ripple Design Studio
Seattle architect Jim Dearth is the principal and owner of Ripple Design Studio. He brings a world of experience to the timeless, elegant home design for which his firm is known. A Pacific Northwest native, Jim grew up primarily on Whidbey Island, Washington, and developed his design sensibilities over many years of living and working around the globe. He received his Bachelor of Architecture degree at the University of Colorado, one of the nation’s early and pre-eminent green design schools. He developed his European perspective on design working as an architect in London and Paris. Long before “being green” was popular, he went on to become one of the first LEED-accredited professionals in the country. In 2005, he founded Ripple Design Studio to marry his passions for environmental stewardship and timeless design. Jim is a registered architect in the state of Washington, an active member of the Seattle green building community, and a passionate voice for design that lives in harmony with its environment. He lives in Seattle with his wife, daughter, and two overly energetic dogs, Murphy and Molly.
